Knowledge Base Integration Implementation ​

Summary ​

The hana-cli MCP Server has been enhanced with comprehensive documentation integration. All project markdown files are now aggregated into a knowledge base that provides AI assistants with direct access to project documentation, best practices, security guidelines, and technical reference material.

Files Modified ​

1. mcp-server/src/readme-knowledge-base.ts (NEW) ​

Comprehensive knowledge aggregation system with:

  • Connection Resolution Guide: 7-step process for finding database credentials
  • Standard Parameters: Organized by command category (data-manipulation, batch-operations, list-inspect)
  • Security Guidelines: Connection security, SQL injection protection, best practices
  • Naming Conventions: Parameter naming patterns, alias rules, usage examples
  • Project Structure: Overview of all folders and key resources
  • Documentation Resources: Links to all markdown files in the project

2. mcp-server/src/index.ts (MODIFIED) ​

Added knowledge base integration:

  • Imported ReadmeKnowledgeBase module
  • Registered 6 new MCP tools
  • Added handler functions for each knowledge base tool

3. mcp-server/README.md (ENHANCED) ​

Added documentation for:

  • Knowledge base integration overview
  • 6 new knowledge base tools
  • Usage examples and scenarios
  • Architecture updates
  • Version 1.202602.4 section

New MCP Tools ​

The following six tools are now available:

  1. hana_connection_guide - Shows how the tool finds database credentials (7-step process)

  2. hana_standard_parameters - Standardized parameters for command categories with aliases and defaults

  3. hana_security_guide - Comprehensive security best practices and guidelines

  4. hana_best_practices - Parameter naming conventions, patterns, and usage examples

  5. hana_project_structure - Project organization and key resources

  6. hana_docs_search - Full-text search across all project documentation
